The S row is short. Of the released units, only Madelyn, Haze, Luka and the Fated Adventurer average 3.5 or more. Haze reaches it on just two rankings (gacha.gg and Mobi.gg), so treat that spot as provisional. Rerolling? Early value is ranked differently, so check the reroll guide before you restart.
How this Monster Hunter Outlanders tier list is calculated
Each site's letter grade becomes a number, the numbers are averaged, and the average is rounded to the nearest tier. Sites that skip an adventurer are left out of that adventurer's average rather than counted as zero, which is why the board marks anyone ranked by fewer than three sites.

Best team comp for F2P and beginners
Solo parties are your Fated Adventurer plus up to three adventurers, according to BlueStacks' beginner guide, and co-op works best when the squad splits the three roles. That makes a free team easy: take the top free pick in each role.

The swaps are all free too: Pyro for parry-based Great Sword damage, Raya for traps and suppression on Dual Blades, Ryunosuke for Fire buffs and healing on Long Sword. Once you have a paid SSR, slot it into its role and keep the free units for the others. Weapon matters too: if you avoid ranged play, see the weapon guide before you build around two Bow users.

Buddies map to the same three roles, so one can cover a gap in your squad. Only Game8 ranks named buddies so far, and most of its notes are single-source, so treat this as a starting point.

- Ask whether a free unit already covers the role before you pull.
- Match the weapon. A B-tier adventurer on a weapon you play well beats an S-tier one you don't.
- Separate limited from standard. Limited banners end; standard units stay in the pool.
